My combination for this week will be the D7200 and AF-S Nikkor 14-24/2.8G ED.

If anyone else wants to shoot a single lens with me for a week, feel free to post what you get in this thread.

Don't forget that the subject says one lens, so you can use your favourite zoom if you want to, it doesn't have to be a prime. The idea behind this exercise is to get in the habit of using our cameras. Remember that the best camera is the one you have with you and are familiar with.

Tomorrow will see a huge post... I have 134 exposures on a card from Monday and Tuesday and will probably shoot some more tomorrow before I have the time to edit. We'll see how many survive the cull.

The 14-24 is such a nice beast on a DX body as it is so close to the 20-35/2.8 on film I used for so many years. As the 20-35 needs to be closed down a bit to be as sharp as the 14-24 is wide open, even the DOF is similar in practical use.

No photos from today, but I got the first two days this week done...

Feel free to comment and ask if you have any questions about this set. Let's see if we can get some discussion going about using ultrawides, even if the 14-24 isn't *that* wide on DX.

Here is a photo of the last wooden ship in the Swedish navy, built in 1941, decommissioned in 2007. She is an old minesweeper.

I would really like some comments, in the hope that we can get some discussion going about using ultrawides.

I think you got some great examples of where an ultrawide can be used and where it can almost be an essential tool even though I continue to limp through without one...love the last shot!
