Hello. I have a nikon d7100 bought as a second hand last year, so the warranty is gone. It perfectly worked perfectly till I've encountered this problem that really frustrates me.
It happens from time to time.. but in the last days it happens too often... And the myghty google does not give me an answer :(
The problem it's like this: i take some pictures... Works fine, but suddenly it shuts down and on the small screen on top it shows a battery that blinks it the camera is open.. and it not blinking if i shut down the camera... It just sits there and it doesn't let me do anything. The problem persists if i change the lens, change the battery. After a while it works...
At first i thought it happened because of low temperature outside(-2 or -4 degrees celsius) but it happened to me again just theese days at + 15 degrees celsius... So the temperature is not the cause.
These days it did not autofocused too.. had my nikon 35mm 1.8g on the body and i hat to manually focus.. then went dead as before just showing the battery icon on the small screen as before.
One other symptom was that if i let my lenses on af it showed the battery icon on top.. but if i set the lenses o manual focus it works.. but only for very short time.
So... I did a reset my camera settings only to make it work for a short time.
I'm really frustrated... What to do? If I'll do a contacts clean it should work? Did not tried this yet cause i don't have solution for contacts clean and i don't want to rub tem with eraser as i've seen on google...
Have anyone experienced the same problem?

I would clean both lens and battery contacts, battery, lens and body. If you can't find De-Oxit, pure medicinal propanol (not rubbing alcohol) works even if it won't give the long-term protection De-Oxit does.

What does the battery health monitor say about your battery? With a used battery, it might be getting close to it's end of life.
