The bluetooth on my camera is grayed out so I can't connect to the snap bridge.  I bought this camera in January, used the camera and snap bridge for the first 10 day, then snap bridge stopped connecting and now the bluetooth on the camera is not working. Extremely disappointed in Nikon.  I would send this camera back if I could.  Any help on getting the bluetooth working?

FORGET everything about normal Bluetooth pairing. It has to be done through SnapBridge. Tell the phone to forget the device in BT settings. Go to SnapBridge and delete the phone from the software under settings.

NOW, restart SnapBridge and let it do the work. It will tell you what to do and as you go through the steps, you’ll get a “Connect Accessory” box. It will be empty, so you’re instinct is to go to BT settings. DON’T. Just be patient. It will eventually populate that accessory window with your camera type and serial number. Ok that and you’ll get the confirmation code on both devices. Oddly, even though the camera SAYS BT is off, it is still sending the BT info. Apparently off isn’t off, off means not connected.

I have done exactly as you say.  My phone (LG ARISTO An.....

No I did not.  I didn't do exactly what you said ... it only looked the part.

It LOOKED like I told my phone to forget the camera, but it was a two-step deal inside Snapbridge ... I had to click on that MINUS SIGN in the RED CIRCLE to really make it forget the camera.

Once I did that, it worked exactly as you said ...

I not only write to thank you, but to perhaps pass on this little snippet about it being more than just waving goodbye to the camera.  You gotta tell it to "GET OUTTA DODGE!!" as well..

I bought D850 a couple of months ago. Barely used it. First time I didn't have any issues connecting to Snapbridge. When a couple of weeks later I tried to connect to Snapbridge on my tablet, the camera got frozen. I was not even able to turn it off properly. I had to remove the battery. When I put the battery back and turned the camera on again, it was not responding to anything I was trying to do. I removed the battery one more time and waited for about 15 minutes. Then I started over again. This time it came up, but within about 15-20 seconds it got frozen again. I did a full factory reset. But it didn't help. I went on Nikon website and found that there was a new firmware release for my camera a few days ago. I downloaded it and tried to updated the camera a few times without any luck. Each time when the progress bar was reaching about 30%, it was failing with the message on the touch screen asking to contact Nikon service. After talking to Nikon service rep on the phone, they asked me send the camera to them for repair. I sent it to Nikon about a week ago. They said that it will take somewhere between 2 and 6 weeks to get it fixed. I can't believe that how easily this camera can break. Did anyone else had this issue?

I found this very helpful post by Jez from Jan 18, I believe ... it worked for me ...

I got D3400 and I disconnected iphone 6s bluetooth from camera and i got this problem.. bluetooth is not available at current state and bluetooth is greyed and so... what i did is this.

1. Forget d3400 bluetooth from my phone paired devices
2. Deleted Snapbridge App
3. Go to camera setting and reset it and keep it off
4. Reinstall again Snapbridge from appstore
5. Switch on Camera and proceed to menu-settings-connect to smart device
6. Open Snapbridge and Paired again with the Cameras bluetooth. And tada!! It works. I did it 3 times already.

Note: Keep your Phone and camera connected, and enable wireless transmission while off or send while off. If you dont want to encounter same problem again. Next time you use it just go to snapbridge and download pictures from camera.
Thats it! I hope id help you.😬
