Sorry to be late yet again! but here it is...

Sometime before midnight (whatever time zone you are in) this Sunday, 8 April 2018, post the best photo you have taken this week. Any subject, any style—just give us your best shot.

If you can, list your EXIF info and any special lighting setups you may have used.

P.S. Peter is running a fun single-lens challenge--everyone is welcome to play. Just look for the One Week, One Camera, One Lens thread in the mini-challenge forums.

P.P.S. The editing exercises are taking a break at the moment, but feel free to play around in the old exercises.

A few from last week, spent the 1st week of April in Denver, Colo., for my Mom's 99th b'day.  In the 90's here in Southern AZ this week.  Will top out at 100 by mid-week.  The summer blast is upon us desert dwellers.

D750, nikon 24-70 lens

2) macro, iso 100, 70mm, 1/160 @ f11, cropped

This is lovely work all around. I really enjoy seeing what you all are up to.

Jerry, that is a gorgeous, windswept bird--the weather and wind are just as much a star of the image as the bird is. Such an evocative (and beautifully composed, as always) image!

Bill, you're making me a bit jealous. We've had sun lately, but it's still fairly chilly. That is a wonderfully warm and inviting image--the colors are so vibrant, I definitely believe it's spring. But does Florida have a season besides summer?

Bobby, wonderful moment to capture there--I love the action you caught. I've been seeing your wildlife photos on Flickr--fantastic work! You must be outside all the time... :) How do you like that 300mm?

Peter, I've been wondering if we were going to see something from your 150–600. For some reason I thought you had picked up the Tamron instead of the Sigma--I see I am quite wrong. Fun capture though--I saw your post on Facebook along with someone else's response containing a photo of a similar rabbit. Was this a fairly big critter?

Deano, those are beautiful, and I have to say--I was at the Ethel M cactus garden in Vegas a few days ago, and I tried to get photos like this...after seeing yours, I think I'll just keep mine under wraps. Yeah...I didn't do nearly as well as you did. Lovely detail and color. I was a bit surprised to find out you used your 24-70 for these! I wouldn't have guessed that--I've come to regard my 24-70 as a bit bland, but I suppose that has more to do with the photographer than with the lens. :) Good luck with those high temps!

Well, looks like I'm going to break the wildlife and nature theme--sorry! We spent a few days in Las Vegas this past weekend, and I visited the Neon Museum (or the Neon Boneyard, depending who you talk to). They're very strict about photography--if you're on a tour, you can take snapshots, but you're not allowed to step away from the tour or use any equipment beyond camera. However, once a week, they have a scheduled photowalk, during which, photographers are allowed to roam the boneyard and use any equipment they desire for about an hour and a half. Of course, you get to pay dearly for the privilege. Since we had a trip to Las Vegas scheduled, I decided to see if I could get in on one of their photowalks. Friday night I found myself with three other photographers wandering the boneyard with my camera, four lenses, and a tripod. I decided to make a trip around the boneyard with each lens in turn. I have many photos to process, but here's one that caught my eye for now.

It was fun to wander the neon boneyard, but I didn't come away with anything I really love. I did keep thinking about you guys though. As I was rounding a corner, I'd wonder how one of you might shoot the scene. Has anyone here ever shot at the Neon Museum? Maybe we ought to have a NikonForums meet up at the Neon Museum someday. :)

Nicole, I was about 7.5m away. These hares are pretty big.

I haven't shot much with the Sigma yet as I am still getting to know the body I will use it with... I will have to calibrate the AF as it front focuses a bit as you can see in this shot.

Nicole, thanks for the kind words (to everyone :)).  Our seasons in S. Fla are just more subtle than the northern latitudes.  At my mother’s home in Kansas it was 80 last Thursday and they had snow on Sunday.  I like subtle better :-).  One of my favorite indicators of spring in S. Fla is the yellow Tabebuia tree which goes from a very barren and sickly looking tree to a brilliant yellow colossus when the aver temp goes above 70 which generally happens in early to mid-March.

I am always amazed at the variety and quality of images I see on this site.  Love the neon.

Nicole, thanks for the kind words.  Liberace would be proud of your shot, bigger than live, flamboyant and colorful.  I have driven past this place a few times but never stopped.  Now that I know of a photographers tour I am most interested.  Next trip.
