I just picked up the P900 because of it's mega zoom capability.

The first thing I wanted to do was check out the quality, at various zoom settings. But I was surprised to see there is absolutely no way to findbout the zoom setting (i.e. 50mm, 75mm, 100mm , 500mm, etc.)

Not even a x1, x5, x50, x83). Its very hard to repeat zoom settings when there is no indication other than the relative scale at the top.

Is there some setting to turn that on?

Is there any way to know what the zoom level is, for any particular zoom?

I sure hope it's in the file somewhere. Pretty major flaw in my opinion, if you cant see the actual zoom level. I cant see it anywhere in the pic on the camera.

I sure hope this is a setting thing.

I would expect that when you pull your image in for post processing, the zoom setting should show along with the other EXIF data.

It is, but I found this when I was trying to take a series of photos at a known zoom setting. For test purposes. Wasnt able to guarantee same setting.

i did find a "zoom memory" setting which is useful, in some modes
