I’m using a D850 with an Nikon SB-910 Speedlight set to Master mode, and two Nikon SB-R200 wireless remote speed lights. When I select the “Silent Shutter” option in the Focus Shift menu, the flashes do NOT fire. The flashes work properly when I select “Off” for the Silent shutter option. The manual doesn’t mention this restriction or offer any advice when using the Silent Shutter option. Is this a problem with the D850 or is this supposed to be the way it works?

Silent shutter uses an electronic shutter which is not synchable to flash. This is normal.

Interesting. The user manual gives the impression that a flash could be used with either shutter mode. Thanks for the fast response.
