I’m using a D850 with an Nikon SB-910 Speedlight set to Master mode, and two Nikon SB-R200 wireless remote speed lights. When I select the “Silent Shutter” option in the Focus Shifting menu, the flashes do NOT fire. The flashes work properly when I select “Off” for the Silent shutter option. The manual doesn’t mention this restriction or offer any guidelines for using the silent shutter option. Is this a problem with the D850 or is this supposed to be the way it works?

I'm going to reply to my own topic. The D850 user manual actually says that Flashes will not work with the Silent Shutter option in Focus Shifting mode. So that's that. When in doubt... read the instructions.
