Sometime before midnight (whatever time zone you are in) this Sunday, 1 April 2018, post the best photo you have taken this week. Any subject, any style—just give us your best shot.

If you can, list your EXIF info and any special lighting setups you may have used.

P.S. Peter is running a fun single-lens challenge--everyone is welcome to play. Just look for the One Week, One Camera, One Lens thread in the mini-challenge forums.

P.P.S. The editing exercises are taking a break at the moment, but feel free to play around in the old exercises.

Did some photos for a model who is submitting them to Maxim Magazine's swimsuit modeling competition. Got a few different shots and poses. She needed a full length and a headshot. I got a more traditional headshot but wanted to mix it up a bit as the headshot doesn't have to be overly formal.

I was walking along the levee in the nature preserve and taking pics of birds in the trees/shrubs on both sides of the road. It was early morning and overcast, so I had very soft light.  I took a couple pics of a red-winged black bird and was watching through the camera when it took off, coming straight at me.  All I saw was a blur but I had the focus button depressed and snapped a couple images.  My camera settings were okay for birds in flight but not fast enough for a small bird starting 20 feet away and flying straight towards me.  Still I do like the shot.

I took this shot at the Perth Nepalese Community fair at Elizabeth Quay in Perth yesterday. Shot on auto from around 30 metres away with the afternoon sun behind the stage. The young lady was prancing around quite energetically and the stage was cluttered with musical instruments etc so getting a more or less tidy background was not easy

I went out to try for a series of moon shots hoping to combine them into a single image. By the time the moon was high enough to lose its red color high soft clouds had moved in. While waiting I noticed this and had to take the shot. Tough light but I like the composition.

I love what you all are doing--some absolutely stunning work in this little thread. I'm short on time, so I don't have time to comment on everything, as much as I'd like to. I think I'll try to come back later though..

But, hey, I finally got my dang camera back out. Made myself carry it around for a couple of days and actually use it. We visited the farm of some friends this past weekend, so I took advantage of the setting to make a few photos. I'm really out of practice. Yikes.

All taken with the D810--first two with the Nikkor 85mm 1.8, last one with the Nikkor 50mm 1.4.  Heh...so excited that I took some photos that I had to post a few.

Always such a delightful treat to view your work, Nicole.  Very sharp, clear, colorful, the bokeh is awesome and very nicely presented.

Thanks so much for sharing.

Late again...

Shot a horse show on 31-March.  I gave my wife the D500 with the 70-200 and I took one of my D4 bodies with the 200-400.  We had a great time and both managed some decent images.  This was one of my favorites!
