Adorama Camer has a new D600 with kit lens for $1599. And unfortunately I'm still one paycheck away.

Thanks. All over now though. They sold 70 units this time. Happily it's happened before so as long as there is stock it could happen again.

Wow! With a lens too. Boy am I feeling stupid for buying one back in March at full price.

That's always what ends up happening if you want to get a camera while it's current, though!  I paid full price for my D800 too ;)

sure that was a new lot or a refurbished set as i recall this week the 600 being offered around that price with a lens but was a rebuild

I paid that for a refurb body only 2 months ago. I'd been thinking I should wait, but didn't expect a D610 just around the corner! Anyone with the yearn for a FF Nikon and the cash should seriously go for one of these - or upcoming even better - deals, the camera is great and the dust issue is (usually) overblown, except if you get one of the truly bad samples. Or that's my sense of it anyway.

I almost jumped on this deal, but I didn't need that lens, and certainly didn't want to deal with the oil/dust issues.  It was very tempting though...

dont get fussed over the dirt issues, i still don't know why everyone is crying over this issue if your really worried about sensor dust etc, get yourself a point and shoot with large zoom, its an slr they are going to have contamination no matter what you do with it

I did this deal. It was new. No oil so far, but <100 shots so far.
