D810 as a web cam?

Can the D810 be used as a web cam?  For instance with Skype?  I've tried to get it to work with Skype but it won't recognize it, so I don't know if I have something setup wrong or it just can't be used that way.  I have all the cables that it takes.

The D810 outputs video over HDMI. You'll need an HDMI capture card/box and the necessary drviers to output the video to Skype.

Both ElGato and Epiphan make these kind of devices.
