Hi folks,

Newbie member here,

So I have just updated my lens firmware, it was done without any problems as i've updated firmware before but, after i'd finished I noticed on the Nikon firmware page it said. WARNING remove lens before installing firmware update.... I didn't do this, so will the firmware improvements not now take place?

Thanks in anticipation of your help

It should work anyway, Nikon are *very* conservative in their firmware update advice.

Hi

I have been pulling my hair out for 2 hours now!

I own Nikon D7100 and updated the firmware. Now the camera DOESN'T FOCUS automatically.

What I did:

- checked if it works with other lenses - no It doesn't

- taken the lens off few times

- taken the battery out for a few minutes

- AE-L/AF-L button is not assigned to focus

Anyone? Help!!!

Have you checked that you haven’t inadvertently moved the focus mode selector and set it to manual focus?
