I posted this before bit it seem lost in cyberspace I am new to digital photography and have read about how much can be done when shooting raw and producing better images with post processing. I would like to use Capture NX-D to do some post processing. As a novice I find the documentation leaving me confused. YouTube videos I have found typically star at an advanced level or are in a language other than English. Can anyone point to material or tutorials for a beginner?

Capture NX-D is, unfortunately, one of the least documented postprocessing applications out there. If you read through the editing exercises, you will find recipes on how I have worked on that week's file, step by step. If you start with the latest and work backwards, there are quite a few after I changed over from Lightroom to Capture NX-D for the basic processing.

What I do, is basically to switch the lens corrections on as a start and then straighten the photo if needed. I then run through the exposure compensation, white balance, picture control and the two tone controls in that order. If needed, I then adjust the tone curves, levels and curves if I have to. If the white balance is really off, this adjustment moves up in the order as this affects all other adjustments.
