Hi,

I am finally ready to get a digital SLR, after shooting with my old trusted FM2 for years. It is now getting to expensive especially as I want to get into this hobby more now again. I am looking for an opportunity to keep using my lenses still.

Would the D610 be able to shoot with a NIKKOR S-C Auto 1:1.4 f=50mm ? I am clear on the fact that non of the autofocus or similar features would work, but I understand I can switch the D610 to manual mode?

But would the lense even attach to the d610? I have a number of other, similarly aged lenses (zoom, telephoto, wide angle, etc) that I would like to keep using if possible.

Thank you for any advice!

Best,

Nik

If you have been able to use them on an FM2, they should be Ai-converted already.

What you need to check, is that there is a notch milled or filed in the aperture control ring, or the ring exchanged for an Ai conversion ring like my 35/2 below.

The circled notch is what you need to watch for before trying to mount the lens. If it isn't converted, the aperture ring will damage the coupling on the body, which is an expensive repair.
