Scanning

Any film shooters doing their own scanning?  What high quality scanner are you using?  Is anyone using a Nikon scanner?  Thanks.

Yes, still shoot, develop and scan my own film.  I have a Nikon Coolscan 9000ED.  The scanner is a midrange scanner quality-wise. But the scanning market these days seems to be either commodity flat bed scanners or outrageously expensive high end scanners few can afford. 

I still use my Coolscan LS-4000 with Silverfast scanning software. It is slower than the LS-5000, but scans Ilford films a bit better than it's successor. They are not high quality compared to a drum scanner, but better than most prosumer units.

NikonScan software is a joke, though. Silverfast or Vuescan are almost necessary, and if you have either of the bulk scanning accessories Silverfast is the only alternative.
