OK, more of a beginner of the forum question.  I need a suggestion for an avatar.  Normally I use a picture of an eagle that I found online.  However, this being a photography forum, I feel like it should be something I took.  I want to eventually get an eagle shot myself.  However, in the mean time it is time for me to move past my silhouette target avatar.  So that is my project for the weekend.

Any suggestions?  I live in an urban environment, if that helps picture what I have available.

Thanks in advance.

Eagle

PS.  What are the restrictions on the photos when I upload an avatar?

As regards the Avatar picture it is for you to choose, but would indeed take a picture you have taken yourself and with which you can identify yourself. As regards restrictions there is one on the size (you will get a message from the site when uploading with the specs if those exceed what is allowed), so you might need to crop or reduce the picture - I had to do, but got it ok after a quick processing - but your avatar can be defintely a picture.

Hey! Until you capture a shot of an actual eagle, you can put up a silhouette of an eagle. :D

Thanks for the idea.  Was not sure how to link back to the page to meet the license requirement, so I found a different image.  Since eagles are not prevalent in this part of the country, it might be a while before I get to photograph one.

Visit a wildlife santcury for birds and see if they have an eagle - ask if you can set up a mini shoot and get yourself an eagle shot! Visit regular and maybe if sponser one - then get lots of access to all kinds of spectacular photo ops. Not all amaizing shots of birds are taken in the wild!
