A successor to the D1 with a higher resolution sensor boasting 5.3 MP, but with a slower frame rate of 3 fps.

It is kind of nostalgic to look at some of these earlier generations of digital camera. Checking what was documented in wiki, it was selling for $30K at one point. I am sure a lot of the latest generation digitals produce equal or better under $1000.

its simply amazing what you can buy now for your money, technology has comecalong way in the last few years with dlsr development and has brought the prices down so much that even the basic dlsr produces such high results

this is very true. My brother shoots a d600 and i shoot a d3100 and i get just as good results as he does. i really believe its not the camera, its the user.

I know a few guys who spent thousands on cameras and all the accessories only to use the bare basics of their functions.. Buy what you need and what will produce the desired results.
