Thanks for the informative review. I intend to pick up a Nikon film body one of these days, and something like the FE definitely seems like a good option.

Unless you need aperture priority, go for the FM or FM2. The FM is the same as the FE with the exception of the auto option. The FE2 and FM2 were the follow-on versions...I believe the major difference with the 2s was a faster shutter speed at the high end...long time ago, so sorry if I didn't hit everything...

I never liked the diodes to indicate correct exposure in the FM and prefer the match-needle of the FE. The 2s have a much more useful 1/250 flash sync as well as the higher shutter speed.
