Hi

Has anyone had issues with their Nikon 200-500mm F5.6 E ED VR AF-S Lens jamming up?

I've seen a few people elsewhere saying they have the problem and I think Nikon should fix them free of charge.

On looking at mine, I noticed the tape used to keep dust covers in place under the zoom grip was sus standard, so I asked Nikon for their thoughts. They agreed that it is not what they would expect to find, which makes me wonder if they have substandard assembly throughout the lens. Screws in the front assembly are coming loose and jamming the lenses, but asking for a quote to remedy this, Nikon quote around £700!

Disgusting.

Any thoughts?
