...only a few people are involved and even post photos on this site. Seems like the same 2 or 3 folks post photos here, all with the same shooting style. I find it a bit odd.

It's hard for me to find inspiration and wish more folks were involved here. I guess it's what it is.

Maybe this could be an inspiration for everyone to get out and shoot and post their work...not just ask questions when somethings not working or wanting to buy more stuff.

And, surprise, surprise, the usual suspects are the ones who participate

The threshold value is apparently too high for new members to join in the fun, I just don't know why...

I am not good at encouraging others to post, it seems. Perhaps I seem a bit stand-offish as I need to think about what I write as well as how it will be perceived as English isn't my first language.

I try to invite others to fun mini-challenges, but getting people to participate is difficult.

I know my style is a bit quirky and I shoot way too much in available dark for half the year, but that's just how I enjoy going out and about with a camera. It started out as a reaction to my day job shooting events and in the studio for far too many hours each day...

Nothing wrong with your use of English Peter, always easy to understand.

I learnt a bit of French at school, and am only able to tell someone to 'close the door' or 'open the window' in that language. Both very useful phases.

Let me see if I can think of some topics to entice posts.

One thing is it's not as easy to post images here w/o using an image hosting server. Other forums you can upload direct from your computer or drag and drop.

Could also modernize the site too.

Another thing is to add some more different fun challenges. And bring monochrome Monday back.

I'd be the first to admit that there are limitations on file size here. Having said that, many other forums have similar limitations.

Use of a free external photo hosting site was the way forward for me:-

flickr.com (1,000 picture upload limit)

imgur.com (unlimited)

Monochrome Monday only requires that any member start a thread with a commencing date for submission.

For me, Peter will tell you that I used to post all the time in the challenges and other shots...Time and bad knees have kept me from shooting as much as I used to and time has limited how often I am on here but I try to keep up with things as often as I can...Hopefully I can contribute more once retirement comes :)

It's a trap! Being retired doesn't necessarily give you more time. And, I too have bad knees which don't help when I need to get down to just the right angle.

For me, I simply don't get out as much as I used to.... but even when I did, I wasn't a terribly prolific poster.  I do enjoy seeing the images you guys post though. Hopefully, the motivation bug will bite me in the rear and get me out and about again. Also, winter is coming (gosh, where have I heard that before?) and the temperatures are starting to drop a bit, so that'll help.

Instead of choosing to post photos here, people are opting to post their problems here. But I have seen a few users posting the photos.
