After mother's funeral, we held a moment of remembrance at her favourite café. As the proprietor is a long-standing friend of the family, he had worked even harder than usual to make this event one to remember.

Sorry to read of the circumstances Peter.
I think the picture captures the spirit of the event.

Peter, I share your sorrow. Dad left us in 1978, and mom in 2003. So much was left unsaid, and I miss them as I know you miss your parents. Dwell on the fond memories my friend, and may a gentle hand or paw be upon your shoulder.

Peter, so sorry for your loss. I've known the pain of losing my folks, my wife, and most recently, one of my best friends. What I also know is that the pain fades but the good memories can remain. Hold on to them.

Thanks to the rest of you as well. Now that the funeral is over, things are looking up a bit. It will take time before I am my usual happy, creative self, though.
