If anyone likes canal boats the annual "Canalway Cavalcade" event is on at and around Little Venice (near Paddington Station. London) this weekend and on Bank Holiday Monday. Basically, it's a fund-raising event for the canal charities and features canal boats, food and drink stalls, often junk and book stalls etc. I don't think they held it the last two years due to covid, it'll be nice to see it resume.

Some pictures I took there in 2018 while testing a Canon 80-200 lens:

If you're coming to Paddington by train the easy way is to follow the signs to the Hammersmith and City line platforms, there's an exit onto the canal-side opposite the gates to these platforms.

Sounds like a great event, I used to do a lot of work for Canal and Riverboat and Waterways World magazine, sadly I won't be back in London until the 10th of May

Due to transport problems I ended up in the area unexpectedly and without my camera on Saturday and had a quick wander around - it was very much the mixture as before, with nothing really surprising. I meant to go back on Monday, but the weather was lousy so I ended up giving it a miss. A bit anticlimactic, but there were enough people there to make me think that it will be continuing into the future, so hopefully I'll get things right next year.

As it turned out, I ended up in the area without my camera on Saturday and had a quick wander around - it was very much the mixture as before, with nothing really surprising.
