Buona Sera,

Hello Francesco

The Nikon company does not read this forum. We are Nikon equipment users

We have some very knowledgable members here.

Perhaps one of them will be able to help.

Thanks to google translate!

The problem is that few of us speak Italian and that important details get lost using Google translate. The forum is international and uses English as the main language.

I would like to know who would be of these knowledgeable members who could help solve the problem and if so how.

Thanks

Francis

What focus mode do you use when the camera doesn’t track?

Can you show us an example shot?

I wouldn’t be surprised if I am one of those members that Pete mentioned.

Hi Nikonian,

I apologize for not speaking English and I understand that Google translator isn't the best option. I'm asking my wife to translate.

I use auto focus and the canera doesn't track. Is this a mistake?

Looking forward to your kind advice on this subject.

Francesco

PS

I don't even know how to post my pictures here. I've tried to link a picture on my Drive but the server replied that I'm not authorized.

The autofocus system in the Z6 is very complex.
A good starting point is setting the camera to single-point autofocus and continuous focus.

The following is correct using the Z6II, I hope that it works the same with the Z6.

If you press the ”i” button, these are the settings furthest to the right in the display. The single-point setting is the one shown as two small square brackets inside two larger square brackets in the top row. The continuous focus setting is shown as AF-C in the bottom row. This setting should keep what is in the focus area focused while the AF is activated even if what you are aiming at moves towards or away from you.

Once you have mastered this basic setting, you can start experimenting with the more advanced settings, and perhaps separating AF activation from the shutter button.
