Hello,

Thanks in advance for any assistance. I am a photography student and need to shoot in manual, but am unclear how to set and maintain ISO 100 on my D7000. I have found the button and wheel to set ISO, but it seems to climb higher automatically, even in manual. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance.

When you have AutoISO on, the button and wheel only sets the minimum value.

When you have AutoISO on, the button and wheel only sets the minimum value.

To change from AutoISO to fixed ISO use the same button you used to set the ISO but other wheel.

Also to notice: some modes always use automatic ISO

The ISO setting adjusts the Nikon D7000’s sensitivity to light.

On the D7000, you can choose ISO values ranging from 100 to 6400, plus four Hi settings, 0.3, 0.7, 1, and 2, which stretch the ISO range from 8000 (Hi 0.3) to 25600 (Hi 1). You also have the option of choosing Auto ISO; at this setting, the camera selects the ISO needed to expose the picture at the current shutter speed and aperture.

Good advice above... however, if you don't already have one, I suggest that you download the PDF version of the official Nikon D7000 manual directly from their D7000 website page. Here, you'll also find links to firmware updates and other info about your camera.
