Hi,

First of all, thank you for allowing me to be a member of this forum. I am new to the forum but an avid Nikon lover.

I started photography as a hobby not too long ago with a D7500 + kit lens + 300 mm f/4 lens. About 6 months back my wife started to get into photography as well so we decided to "upgrade" and get here a camera as well.

So we went to the local Nikon authorised dealer and we got the following gear:

Z6 II

Z50

Z 160-50 mm DX (kit lens)

Z 24-70 mm f/4 (kit lens)

FTZ adapter

Z 70-200 mm f/2.8 (what an absolute great kens that is`)

Z 20 mm f/1.8 (also absolute fantastic lens

Z 1.4 teleconverter (bit of a disappointment)

And we still use the 300mm f/4

The combination works wonders, since the Z50 is a crop lens we've got the whole range covered from 20 mm full frame up to 300 mm full frame, but if we put the 300 mm with the FTZ converter on the Z50 our reach is 450mm.

The teleconverter is disappointing. It gives the 70-200mm a range of 98-280. But the 300mm with the FTZ gives better quality than the 70-200 with the converter. Big plus for the Z lens however is that the autofocus motor is completely silent whilst the AF-S lens motor is loud (well relatively loud we never realised the sound it makes until we started using Z lenses.

What do we shoot: my wife mainly videos + street photography. I mainly night city scapes and skylines, BiF, skylines and landscapes + started experimenting with astro.

The only thing that's not so gerat from Nikon is Nikon Transfer 2 + NX Studio. NX Studio in itself provides good features especially realising it is for free. But Nikon Transfer, about 60% of the photos I upload from camera to my Mac simply remain invisible in NX Studio. If I go to finder on the Mac than the NEF files are there and I can open them with Luminar or ON1 Photo but not with NX Studio.

I must be doing something wrong but have checked workflow multiple times and am clueless why this is.

Any suggestions are welcome
