Hello All!

Im looking to shoot some HDR, I have a D7100...I noticed there are two modes. An HDR mode and the Bracket mode. I understand with the bracket mode it will shot X number of photos with different exposure settings. But how does the HDR mode work? Which should I start with? *note it will no allow you to pick HDR and bracket together*

Thanks everyone!

The BKT mode produces a series of shots with varied exposures, just as you think.

The HDR mode produces a single HDR jpg in-camera.

You will be much better off using a bracketed series and merging the files in post as you have much more control and can produce a more (or less) natural looking final photo according to your own taste.

Artistically speaking, I never liked HDR but for interior architecture.

I prefer to teach my students to exploit better the DR of their camera
using their best friend: the histogram.
