Hi,

I cannot find any practical and updated info about someone who tested SB-5000 and D750, using the SB-5000 only as a wireless flash, detached from the camera.

Just found a video from 2016 (https://www.youtube....h?v=rLWmRfMycyw).

Hope Nikon solved the issue in the meantime.

Anyone knows anything about it?

As there is still no support for the WR-R10 as flash master on the D750, it will probably never work. The SB-5000 works well using AWL, though.

I got tired of waiting and got some Godox Ving speedlights instead.

Does radio control work with any Nikon bodies produced prior to the ones that were released at the same time as the SB-5000?

After using radio control I'll never go back to optical slaves.

I did not perfectly understand your phrase. Does it means I can use SB-5000 with my D750 in wireless mode through AWL?

I found this article and paragraph 1 says D750 is compatible with D750...but I´m a little bit confused: does it works or not?

https://www.nikonimg...1909&lang=en_GB

I also found this official compatibility article but do not know how to "read". It seems SB-5000 is fully compatible as remote for D750.

https://nikonsupport...312/SBCC_en.pdf

My simple question is: if I just buy one SB-5000, can I have it to work as remote flash with my D750 as is, without buying anything else?

Thanks in advance for any info.

It works using the IR link that uses the pop-up flash as a master. There is no radio link.
It is not as realiable or as easy to rig as a radio link as it is line-of-sight and the sun can drown out the signal sometimes.

If you want a radio link with the D750, why not look into the Godox system? You can get two V860II units and the transmitter for about 5000 SEK now as Photax are running a campaign. The SB-5000 is around 6500 SEK.

Many thanks for the answer, I missed some info.
I will have a look through the Godox system.
