What is the story behind the handles/usernames we use? Please tell.

Mine is from my days flying control line stunt models when I got known for using a 10cc Merco 61 engine. I have used it, or a version of it everywhere since the mid 90-s.

I still have one of the engines.

My late father was an avid radio controlled model aircraft enthusiast too, who also flew control line models. He also built several engines too, and was in the RAF.

I'm just as it says, a pro Nikon shooter that happens
to play guitar and hockey doing all with passion.

I could have used D28 or D41 or CCM as well.

A friend once implied (on my birthday) that another year meant another herd of cattle because I enjoy a good steak from time to time.  Combining that with my first initial, I got the TBonz nickname...

Not obvious to non gun collectors.  Mine is simply the U.S Model 1896 Service Rifle, the Krag '96 that the ''Regulars'' used in the Spanish-American War.

One I have in my collection, file photo I had taken with my phone some years ago.

My user name came from my daughter.

At the marsh, one day, a group of unrelated birders was already there.
My daughter and I took position and got ready. One of the guys noted
that I was not using Canon like the rest of them… with a smile on the
corner of his lips.

I didn't mind a bit but she was irritated, steaming. From the hight of her
sixteen years old at the time she said: "My dad would never set an ugly
white lens on a black body… he's a Nikon shooter!" … there it was. :P

Not obvious…

I don't suppose that it makes you a "son of a gun" now… does it? :P

I can't carry a tune or play any musical instrument but I enjoy listening to many musical genres - '40s big band, country, classic rock, opera, etc. If forced to pick just one type to the exclusion of the rest, though, I'd choose the blues.

Lucky you to find an answer to that, I couldn't.
