Hello everybody, I'm new here and I have one question. So I hope I will get the right answer here :)

I have an old Minolta SRT 101 with three lenses 45mm f2, 28mm f3.5 and 200mm f3.5 (picture below). 396433_3333550295794_2014854496_n.jpg?_n

So, my question is: I want to re-use my three lenses with a new digital Nikon camera. Which camera is compatible with these lenses (if there is such a thing at all) or can I use any Nikon kind only with the adapter?  And somehow I hope that Nikon D3300 or D5000 is compatible with the lenses, somehow I like these cameras the most :)

Thanks in advance for the help :)

Welcome.

As you already guessed, you will need an adapter for having the good mount. While choosing the adapter, take the one with the lens as this will allow to go to infinite.

As regards the different cameras (f.i. D3xxx or D5xxx), once you have mounted the lens, you’ll need to set the camera to manual (M mode) as the camera will not be able to use the other modes with these lenses.

Once you have taken a few captures, feel free to post them here.

Jerry is right. And, don't expect miracles.

There may be others but the only one I found when I went looking for an adapter to mount my Rokkor X 500mm RF lens on my Nikons was made by Fotodiox and I purchased it from B&H. Just go to their website and search for lens adapters. What you want is a Minolta MD to Nikon F.

The results I obtained were fair at best. Good luck!

Unfortunately the body of a Nikon using the F lens mount is 3mm deeper than those old Minoltas, so you need an adapter with a corrective lens to get close to infinity, and none of them are very good - this also applies to most other digital SLRs e.g. I need one for the Canon Eos body I use for most lens tests. So far as I know the only digital cameras that can give you focusing to infility with those lenses without a conversion lens are mirrorless designs, e.g. Sony Nex and of course the Nikon J1 etc., but neither is compatible with ordinary Nikon bodies and lenses, and I get the impression you want that.
