Hi there,

Awhile back I changed my ISO setting to only use 200, 400, 800, 1600 and 3200. I cannot, for the life of me, recall how I did this and how to change the settings back so I can use the ISO settings in between and it is driving me nuts. Does anyone know how to do this? I did reset my shooting menu to factory setting but it did nothing to change this.

Thank you for your help!
Catherine

Hello and welcome,

You are mentioning full stop ISO values, as every value is the double of the previous one, providing for each time one extra stop.

There are also ISO values (f.i. 100 or 6400) outside the list you give. What values your camerabody provide for depends on the model.

In the Menu for capture details you can set the max ISO (i.e. when being in AutoISO, the maximum value that the camera should choose). Acvordingto the range of IDO values that you list, you will have set it to 3200.

As regards the minimum ISO (here: 200) the camera will choose the ISO value that you select when pressing the ISO button on your camera. If you are *not* in AutoISO the camera will only take the set value, if you are in AutoISO the camera will choose between the set value and the max ISO set in the menu.

Having done a factory reset should have allowed you to revert actions to ignore those settings.

If you look under custom setting b1, you will find full steps, 1/2 steps and the full DIN scale of 1/3 steps. You didn't specify what camera you have, but I assume it is the D700 in your equipment list.
