Hi,

I just bought the Nikon Coolpix B500. I got 4 Alkaline batteries with it and a USB cable.

My questions are:

1/ How to charge the camera?

I think I need to charge it right? Do I need to plug the USB cable then charge it with my computer? If yes, should I remove the AA batteries when I am charging?

2/ How to transfer photos to my computer?

I do not want to use SnapBridge often. Should I connect the USB cable to my computer to transfer the photos? If yes, must the camera turn ON or OFF when doing that? Can I leave the AA batteries in the camera when transferring?

Thanks

Well, if you have non-rechargeable AA batteries, you should not have to charge them.  The camera uses them for power, so you would not need to charge the camera itself.

Most people I know remove the SD card from the camera and read it on their computer via a card reader.  Some computers have a card reader built in and others you would have to purchase one.  Don't know specifically about the B500 but many cameras also come with a USB cable that you can use.  I would assume the camera would need to be on in order for the computer to read the card.  Since the camera is powered by the batteries, they would certainly need to be in the camera for it to be turned on.
