HI all. I am new to the D3100 and also have an SB-22 Speedlight. My question is, can I use the flash without damaging the camera? I've heard older flash units can "Overload" newer cameras and didn't want to mess up my 3100.

Any help, advice, comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The SB-22 has a low trigger voltage so it won't damage your camera but it doesn't work with iTTL, so you need to use it in Auto mode instead of TTL. It doesn't have any way to lower the output manually, so it is not a good flash for strobist use.
