A decent shot of a waterfall at Silver Falls, Oregon. I believe this lens; AF Nikkor 35~80 mm D Lens does a very good job. I am puzzled as to the reasons so many people have given this lens such terrible ratings. Please enjoy and thanks so much for looking.  Here again I am losing sharpness upon uploading.  This is one film print that was converted to digital format.

It's somewhat hard to give good critique without a full resolution photo. Perhaps consider uploading to a photo sharing site like Flickr so you can paste the BBCode in your post and it will present a full resolution image.

That said, I first want to say it seems soft (again likely a resolution issue). The water and foreground is nicely exposed, but the trees in the top corner are pretty dark. Perhaps consider boosting the shadows there to help pull that detail out. I like the color (I LOVE Oregon, I used to live there and I miss it terribly) but if it were me, and this is strictly a personal preference, I would try doing a longer exposure of the waterfall to that nice blurred/misty look to it.

All in all it's a great photo, and it's only making me miss Oregon even more.

Thank you very much.  I appreciate your input.  Tony
