D.I.Y. Snoot

A homemade snoot was an easy find. I used the plastic hydraulic piston covers from a computer chair I was disposing of. Just unfastened the clip located at the wheel base and the piston was easily removed. They slide together tight and fit the flash well. The light port is able to be used directionally. Some similar slip covers from another chair i found were not formed as well. it would require tape or glue to hold them together so they were slated for another project..

I used just a tube made of black paper. It's also works greate but you can't use it too many times, paper isn't durable.

thanks everyone. hope it is helpful to some people. i found these while stripping the chairs down to recycle metal. as Little Rock Photo says, better than filling a landfill.

another bonus to this set up is the ability to collapse and fit in a camera bag easily. thinking of painting the inside silver to add light transmission. also thinking of modifying it to accept colored filters.
