I have to say this is a must have lens! I have owned this lens for almost 2 years now and I get incredilbe images. This is my go to lens for almost everything. Even though it is a F4 I still use it in low light situations. I have bumped up my ISO and with my D7000 very little noise! I am so in love with this lens! It is definately worth every penny!
I agree, this is a great lens! I usually have it mounted on one of my D700's at all times for general purpose and walk arounds. It's very well made, not quite a Pro lens, but much better than consumer lenses, (pro-sumer?). I've gotten some great images using this lens like Kcanny above. So far I've only used it on an FX body, on a DX of course it would be a 36-180mm lens, still not bad!
Complaints? The hood is kinda flimsy and the aperture blades are rounded, so no sun stars with this one...I guess I can live with that though.
