Ebay is actually a very good source of them, you just have to get them from reputable sellers. If you have a large camera story near where you live you might look there.

They are also in short supply because I am hoarding them all!  :D . I have 2 FTN's, an F2A, F3HP, F4E, F5, FE2 and Nikkormat FT2 along with 31 non-AI/AI/AIS Nikkors from 8mm f/2.8 to 600mm f/4. I also have a Hasselblad 500CM and 5 CZ C or CF T* lenses from 40mm f/4 to 250mm f/5.6. And they ALL still get used, alongside my D500, D750 and D850. In fact, all of my Nikkors are all manual focus, I don't own an AF lens and probably never will.

Nikon and NIkkors on ebay tend to be priced higher than any other system.

Locally here in the Philippines, they fetch a high price. Rarely do you see it selling under $100.

There is a good reason for it, they are of very high quality, though not always in the best of shape. I am a part time working professional now that I am retired and all I use are manual focus non-AI/AI/AIS for film and digital. They are built to the very highest of mechanical and optical quality. Some of my Nikkors date from the 60's though most are from the 80's and a few from the 90's. How many of today's plastic, electronic Nikkors will still be around and actually in use 50 years from now?

I recognize that this is an old post, but I thought I'd contribute my 2cents. I was a working professional for many years, beginning in the early 70's. I love film and have digital equipment. I will use my Canon digital 7D, 40D, and my LEICA CL on occasion. All my other cameras,19 ay last count, take film. They range from 35mm to 6x4.5 to 6x6 and 6x7. As regards eBay, I have made some outstanding deals. Film cameras are out there, you just have to look and understand what you need to look for, like any problem(s) in the camera.

Very true... It helps to know the camera well and it's common issues.

While eBay is great...it gives me access to more equipment than I would ever see at a local shop. I do miss the local shops where you know the owner and they know what equipment interests you. Some of my best purchases were from a local shop... like a Rolleiflex 3.5F for $250...or Zeiss Jena 20mm and 25mm for $125 each. I once found a Rollei 35 (made in Germany) in a junk bin for $25. I got it working on the ride home and I still have it
You might have gotten some good deals on eBay in the early days, but these days they're few.

Over the years I've occasionally considered selling off some of my old equipment. Then I look at the prices people are getting for similar stuff and remember what I paid for most of my stuff. At that point I usually decide that it's not worth the trouble to sell stuff where you literally get tiny fractions of a cent per dollar. I suspect there are many people who feel the same way.

I have a Nikon F2, F3, F3, F3hp, FM2n, Nikkormat F2, Nikormat EL, N50, N90s, Ricoh XRP and XR2 with prime and zooms, Minolta SRT101 and 370, and Rolleiflex SL35E. Used to collect cameras and at one time had about 30 35mm, 645, 6X6 camera but lost all but listed in hurricane Florence. Have thought about selling some but when I start cleaning and checking before selling, they feel so good in the hand I just caint let them go
