I have a Nikon DP-20 viewfinder on my F4.  One of the pins on the bottom of the finder got broken off while sliding my viewfinder onto a different F4 body.  We fixed it by removing a pin from another DP-20 with a missing pin, and put it into the first DP-20 which fixed it.

Anyone have any ideas as to what might cause this to happen?

I'll attach a photo I took of the bottom side of the DP-20.

The repair manual can be found here:

Product Details | Nikon DP-20 Viewfinder Service Manual | Nikon | Service Manuals | Learn Camera Repair

Other than never removing the finder, I'd like to know what can cause this issue.  I don't want it to happen again.  My best guess is that I didn't align the viewfinder perfectly before pushing it forwards onto the camera......

Thanks for any advice.
