Hi all

A new member here, who yesterday purchased a D700. I haven’t got a memory card for it yet, and was wondering if a fellow member can advise me on which one to buy?

Thanks in advance

Nige

Welcome Nice! :P

First, I would download the Manual from the Nikon UK website.
Knowing the suggested card in that manual will tell you every-
thing you need to know.

Second, simply follow the said recommendations without cutting
corners.

I did see on a forum you could put larger capacity cards in than the manual states, due to the size in the manual being the largest made at the time but check first.

Indeed, larger capacities are available. I typically use top
brand cards of 32 or 64 GB that have the highest write
and read speed.

I tend to get the fastest 32 or 64 GB cards I can get from either Sandisk or Lexar for the D700. The D700 is a bit finicky about cards and I have had trouble with Kingstons and Transcends that worked perfectly in the D300. Make sure to buy from a reputable dealer as there are lots of counterfeit CF cards on the market.
