Hi, I had connected my camera to my laptop and i was deleting some photos from its folder via my computer

After i deleted 2 photos, I couldnt open the other photos on my laptop.

The camera wont turn off now and i cant access the library on my camera, and it wont connect to my laptop either.

I can take photos and access the settings though.

Just cant access the playback or turn it off'

Any ideas?

Have you tried removing the battery, waiting a little and then reinserting the battery?

And welcome to the forums!

As above for a starting point, a lot of problems show up when connected to a computer, its better to take the card out and transfer the images, then put the card back in the camera for deleting images.

Suggest that you get a card reader instead of connecting to your computer. Pulling the battery is sometimes necessary. The camera way of making a hard reboot.

Sometimes it isn't enough just to remove the battery. To do a full reset, you might need to remove the battery, let the camera sit for an hour or so, then activate the LCD illumination without inserting the battery to discharge some capacitors and after that is done insert the battery.

I would also recommend getting a card reader for two reasons:

  • It is more stable and integrates better with the computer's OS.
  • You can pull the battery and start charging it directly when you come home instead of having to wait until you have got the files imported. This makes the risk of forgetting that it needs to be done much smaller.
