Hello,

I'm trying to trigger some slave units to the attached strobe on my camera, but apparently the don't synchronize correctly, they discharge, but their light does not affect image.

I have the following setup:

  • D5200
  • MASTER FLASH: VIVITAR DF-3000 (dedicated TTL)
  • SLAVE UNIT: TUMAX 160S (generic) slave unit

I have configured my camera in the MANUAL setting, at various power levels, but none of them gives the required result.

I have also shot at various lens openings with the same results.

I also varied shutter speed, and aout 3 sec., the slave light gets into the image (that is: there is a 3 sec. delay?

Please, can someone gime me some advice?

Thanks in advance for your valuable help

The Vivitar appears to be a slave only from what I read on B&H in the product description, the Tumax I can't see any reference to it being able to slave or master.

Vivitar CAN be a SLAVE, but it is used as MASTER.

the TUMAX can also be a MASTER or a SLAVE, in this case, it is performing as SLAVE.

I have made tests with my beloved D3100 and the set works just fine, so, I believe there is something I'm not considering with D5200
