A Tokina 11-16/2.8 is only a bit over budget new, otherwise you will have to look at used in that range.

The Nikon AF-P 10-20 is within budget from B&H, but on the D7200 it is a hand-held lens only as you can't turn the VR off.

KEH do have some in stock.

I thought that Nikon had released a firmware update for the D7200 back in the first part of the year to support 'P' lenses.

Ron, the AF works really well with the firmware update, the problem is the lack of a VR button on the lens.

How wide are you looking for? And are you averse to using manual focus? I have a Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 that I really like (also sold as Samyang and Bower brands). It's pretty sharp, and the price is right (usually around $299). It's manual focus though, and not everyone enjoys that. It's also fixed focal length so it might not be as versatile as those Peter has mentioned. Just another possibility to consider...

Peter: So, the firmware update didn't add a menu item or some such in the camera to disable VR?

Nicole has a good suggestion. I've toyed with getting one of those cheap superwides myself. And, personally, the lack of AF on a superwide would be unnoticeable to me.

Ron, here's what Nikon have to say about compatibility.

The only thing 1.04 adds is a tweak to the time zone settings, so no new menu item for the lack of switches :(.

The Samyang/Rokinon etc 14 is a good lens, but it is only moderately wide on DX. When I have used my 14-24 on DX, I often want just a bit wider. OTOH, we survived without anything wider than the 20-35 or the 20 mm primes for very many years in the film era.

I'll make you a deal on one of these... Tamron Camera Lenses - Lenses For Sony, Canon, Nikon & Fujifilm

Like new in box (shortly after I bought it I switched to M43), $350 +shipping.

IMHO, best ultrawide for DX (or I wouldn't have bought it in the first place). (c;

This is true. They also make a 12mm designed specifically for DX cameras.

Isn't the 12 the FX fish? I think the DX wide is a 10 mm. The 10 seems to be a bit outside budget.

Fallout, a 35 is a normal lens on DX.

There is two. A 12mm DX rectilinear and 12mm FX Fisheye

Isn't the 12 DX only for mirrorless bodies?
