I am having quite a difficult time trying to get the self-timer to work in my Nikon D200.  Everything is set according to my Green Lantern Operating Manual, however when I push down on the release button, instead of activating the self-timer, it triggers the shutter and takes a photo.  I have double checked my settings and no success yet.  The manual advises to use Manual Mode and Manual Focus and I did, but still no luck.  In the camera's settings the self-timer is on ten seconds, but again no luck.  Yes, I do have the camera on a tripod.  The auto focus assist light activates but the self-timer does not.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Okay, I found the adjustment dial to put the camera in self-timer mode.  It works just fine now.  I wonder why the Green Lantern Manual does not instruct one to use it.  ???

thnx,

Do you have the Nikon D200 manual, Tony?
