Updated browser on work laptop so can now do this from it as well. But, when I preview, the image looks huge in the screen. Do I need to size images before posting this way?

For web display on any social media, I always resize my photos. I set the dpi at 72 and then set the long side at 1600 pixels. It's random--no reason for it really, and there are probably better sizes (especially for Facebook). But these numbers seem to keep file sizes well under 1MB.
When you choose to share via the BB code on Flickr, Flickr should give you several size options in a dropdown menu--just choose the size you want. I like to see photos large, so I usually choose "Large" with the long side at 1024 pixels, which seems to display nicely in our threads.

No problem--I hope this answers your question adequately. It's what I do, but someone else may have a better method or better explanations for why doing it a certain way is more effective. Lots of different ways to get to the same place!

Well, let's just test your theory. This was a test shot when I bought my flash, so seems appropriate for a test post ha ha.

I think that did the trick, thanks. Was just tired of soft images when I posted. And am now remembering how amazed I am at the modern flashes! Off to do site visit and take some photos. For work dangit, not sure I'll have time for any fun.
