Looking for a good gimbal without the cost of a new camera or lens. Internet search for "best gimbal head" returns results from 2012.! You folks have any advice? Cheap ones on Amazon have some worrisome reviews.

The Benro GH2 isn't quite under the $300 you mentioned in the subject, but it is good value for money. They had some quality issues early on but that seems to be sorted out now.

I haven't tried the Nest, but I absolutely hate being forced to slide the QR plate in from the side with a heavy lens. The Benro can open enough to drop the plate in from the top, does the Nest do that? Most of the cheap ones don't.
