I joined just now because I'm having trouble with my d7500…

What? I though it was for our friendliness and sex appeal!!!

Just joking man! :P :P :P

Are you sure the lock button (L) is not on?

I am joining this group to learn more about remotely operating my new tripod mounted Nikon P1000 in record mode while using SnapBridge and/or the Nikon Ml-L7 unit.

Hello, My name is Chris and I am based in Cumbria, England.

I am a professional photographer working mainly in the area of architectural photography and commercial photography.

Although I have recently been using Sony mirrorless cameras I have now returned to the fold and now shoot almost completely with Nikon Z6 and Z7 cameras. My earlier days included using Nikon F2 Titans and a range of other Nikons SLRs and DSLRs over several years.

In my own time I like to shoot landscapes which is fortunate because I live within walking distance of the Lake District National Park.

I look forward to making a positive contribution to this forum and to be able to enjoy the posts and images submitted by other forum members too.

Hello from Mississippi.  New to photography and was just gifted a D90 in excellent condition. Curious as to opinions on this model. Guy who gave it to me just bought a D500. Is the D90 an old, outdated dinosaur or is it a good unit?  Thank you.

Hi ! From the Lovely Eastern Shore of Maryland, my name is Karl

I'm a new hobbyist and shoot with a D7000.  I use 35mm, 50 mm , 105 mm( manual focus) prime lenses and a Zoom kit lens.  I searching for a 85mm prime to add to my bag.  Any suggestions for another lens to add?

Currently I using aperture priority 80% of the time.  The other 20% of my attempts have been trying to learn full manual mode. The AP mode is going ok, but I have encountered situations where I need to adjust ISO and shutter speed  and the result have not been pretty.  I understand exposure compensation and have been improving in this area.    I would appreciate any suggestions shooting in aperture priority mode.

Also,  I have an inherited a collection of M42 vintage lenses and have been searching for an adapter that works well with my D7000.  The ones I have tried are too hard to get on and off.

Thanks

Hi,

I am an enthusiastic amateur who recently got into photography. This new hobby (started march last year during first lockdown) has gotten completely out of hand especially when my wife got I FD ted with the photography virus as well. So since we now both enjoy it we invested ina bunch of Nikon gear (Z 6II, Z50, 24-70 f/4 kit, 16-50 DX kit lens, Z 20 mm f/1.8, Z 70-200 f/2.8, FTZ adapter, Z 1.4 teleconverter and we use a AF-S 300 mm f/4 which we had for our older D7500.
The D7500 went to our son to get started as well.

I look forward M sharing tips and tricks Ng is forum as well as being inspired by other members photos

Thanks

Hello.I am a new user to Nikon Coolpix P1000.I have read the manual and getting some decent photos.I am having issues with focusing.I half press the shutter button to lock the focus,it resolves tack sharp then fully press to trip the shutter and the picture previews as out of focus. It does it consistently even stabilized on a tripod ,with remote shutter release, self timer, hand held.Auto focus and manual focus. The screen viewfinder and eye piece viewfinder display a perfectly focused image until you trip the shutter then it displays out if focus.I have the same focus issues in all modes.manual, auto ,S,P,A ,bird, moon, scene mode.with and without VR.I wish I could have the photo I see displayed in the viewfinder before I full press the shutter and it goes hopelessly out of focus. Are there other Coolpix P1000 shooters having a focus issue like this and please tell me what I'm doing wrong.Thank you.

Hello from Edmonton, Alberta :).  I am a D7100 and D7000 user (I have my wide angle on the D7000).  My main camera is the D7100.  Even though I have been taking photos since I was 4 years old, eventually learning to develop my own film while stepping up in cameras, I still consider myself a beginner - learning what I didn't know all the time especially with the D7100.  I just want to really thank (I think it is Merco61) - sorry I can't remember if that is his handle, but he really saved my sanity today.  I managed to get very discouraged in 2019 with a very bad camera group I was with and I left the scene and didn't pick up my camera until now. Reaching 70 this year I have sufficiently grown up (lolol - maybe) to be able to move on from that, forget what others think, champion those that need it so that they don't get the discouragement I did - and I picked up my camera. Only to discover after charging the battery that the green light wouldn't go off and the camera wouldn't work.  My undying gratitude to the gentleman who kindle gave the instructions that totally remedied the situation.  I am over the moon - thank you so much.

If it was I who could help in any way, I wonder which of my posts was so helpful.

Welcome to the forums, I hope you find that we are a bit less focused on ego and more helpful than most other photo forums around the net.

I am looking forward hearing about everyone's Nikon experiences. I've been shooting with one version or another since 1975 when I bought my first F2.

Greetings from Cleveland, Ohio! I first became obsessed with Nikon after hearing Paul Simon's "Kodachrome" back in the '70's. But it was a system that didn't make my camera bag until the '90's, when I bought my F100. I've been loving photography since my first Kodak Brownie, eventually majoring in Art with a specialization in photo. My career has traversed commercial, industrial, aerial, portrait, wedding, and wildlife photography, but my roots are in art, documentary photography, and social commentary. Unfortunately, my equipment budget is limited, so I've been holding on to my D300 since 2008. Time for  an upgrade...

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a D300... I used mine until this spring when I gave it to my niece to learn on. Mine was at a bit over 310000 exposures, but with a shutter replacement @270236 clicks when a rivet decided to let go.

Please, feel invited to take part in the mini challenges. We don't care about what equipment is used, even if some notes that give a hint about how the photo was achieved always are welcome. I use anything that fits what I want to do, whether it is an old FE2, an F4E, the current mirror-free wonders or anything in between.

Hi all,

Not sure I've introduced myself, ever, although I joined a while back, when I was pretty new to digital Nikons.

Now soon 10 years later I am a seasoned Nikon user (coming from Pentax), With my first being a Nikon 1 V1, still working as well as new, but very worn!

I am now a retiree, so my day is not that hectic any more, the same goes for my dear wife! We hope to spend the rest of our lives in Sweden and Thailand, where the grandchildren are. And the son and his wife. who has a huge family. But we harried home when the Covid started and has not been back yet.

I mainly photograph birds, and kinds other wildlife. But like aircraft as well, both full-size and flying models. And designing model aircraft, too!
