Welcome to Nikon Forums - Introduction

Welcome to Nikon Forums! As we're sure you already know, we're a new discussion and resource site for Nikon camera users, and we will be doing our best to become the ultimate Nikon community in the years to come. If you haven't already, we recommend that you create a free account to enjoy our site to its fullest. You can also log in using your Facebook account.

Our site is more than just a forum; even though we've just gone live, our staff has been hard at work setting things up over the past several weeks. Don't miss our homepage news, user photo gallery, member blogs, and classifieds! We also have a Nikon camera database and a Nikon lens database, where you can post reviews of your gear and browse specifications. If you own a lens that isn't listed yet, you're welcome to add it to the database! All six of these sections are accessible via the navbar on the left side of the page.

Nikon D600: We are giving away one of these - details below!

In order to celebrate our launch, we are hosting three giveaways and a photo contest, all of which are already live! By participating in our main giveaway, you can win a Nikon D600, D7100, or up to $2000 toward any other Nikon camera. The first 25 forum users will receive premium account upgrades with increased photo space, while one of the first 200 members to join will be randomly chosen to receive a $150 gift card to B&H Photo. Details on all these giveaways can be found here.

You might be wondering who's in charge of Nikon Forums and how we were able to get so much content online and fund all these great prizes. Read on for a little bit about us!

NikonForums.com is privately owned by a family of enthusiast photographers. We know a lot about cameras and have a background in computing, so by putting these two things together we're able to bring you quality content and a state-of-the-art browsing experience. Our #1 goal is to make you, our users, happy.

Pentax Forums

Our journey started in 2006 with the launch of PentaxForums.com, a forum for Pentax camera users similar in principle to this site. We created Pentax Forums because there weren't really any big Pentax communities out there, so we made it our mission to give Pentax users a much-needed online home. The site was very positively received, with over 100 users signing up the day it was launched. Much to our surprise, it kept on attracting new users, so we kept on adding new features and sections similar to those that you already see here. Growth in the site's early years was tremendous, and in 2010, we started publishing news and in-depth camera/lens reviews on the homepage. this is something that we plan on doing here as well. Even though much of the homepage content targets users in the US, over 65% of our members live in other countries, and we are very proud to have such a strong international appeal. Needless to say, our Pentax site is now visited by millions of photographers each year, and it has also gotten a great deal of official recognition, which prompted us to take things to the next level.

What we'd like to do now is offer Nikon users the same friendly community atmosphere and the same feature-packed web experience that we offer for Pentax users. There's no denying that there are already many large Nikon sites out there, but we think we can do better! If you are looking for a community with a friendly atmosphere, or if you enjoy a site that's easy to browse and use, then we'd like to invite you to give us a shot!

We're confident that you will enjoy our forum, not to mention the other sections that we've set up, such as the lens database or classifieds. The forum is powered by industry-leading software which makes staying on top of the latest discussions and news easy. Our entire site can also be used on mobile devices. These are just a few examples of things we're doing to enhance your browsing experience. If you can think of anything else that you'd like to see on the site, we welcome your suggestions!

Expect to see many more homepage posts about our site features and events over the course of the coming days. If you're interested in helping out with the site, whether it be by helping moderate the forums or post content, then please stay tuned for ways in which you can contribute. Once again, welcome to Nikon Forums!

How do I delete a photo or album? I had tried to add a photo and it wasn’t the one I wanted to post!

Well done on bringing this site to us Nikon users where we look for news, feedback, information and anything else we might find of interest.
