 having that gap between the camera and plate may cause damage or pull the threads out of the camera.

all so added a dot site real cheap.

the tripod was cheap and very heavy which is a must for this size camera.

a lite tripod if you bump it the camera tripod has a good chance of tipping over,

a heavy tripod like i have can handle a hit pretty good and i all so have a gimbal which is stiff,

moving a stiff gimbal on a lite tripod will move the tripod all over the place

i ended up buying other parts that was listed here and this is what i came up with

and just put the ball head on it, all transit levels ive seen are very well built, i weight about 200 lbs and i used to jump on it both feet to plant it in the ground, never seen one break.

with the p1000 im more worried about being top heavy and tipping over from the wind or by it getting bumped a little bit.

i found this topic by searching and the topic shows>Tripod for P1000? so i figured this would be the best place to ask.

the p1000 is not your typical weight and im sure most cameras will work on most tripods, the link i posted is i found it for sale and maybe some one could look at the spec and tell me.

i do search and i would think some PRO here would be the BEST place to ask, i dont want no junk to find out the tripod broke then broke my camera, cost a lot of money,

pretty simple answer is the tripod junk or not for my needs.

set it back to factory settings,

update the firmware.

format the card ONLY by the camera,

if you format the card all ready then put some thing on it and format it with the camera,

i think if its blank the camera is really not formatting the card,

for a test and i know you watch the image but turn OFF auto focus.

get biggiest memory card and make sure it can handle high speed like for 4K.

its moldable thermoplastic Polymer, this stuff gets hard as a rock and you can re use it.

im using Black to match the camera. once done ill remove the plastic wrap,

ill mold it with the lens all the way in and once harden and the lens goes out it wont tilt down or move.

but for hand making it should be more cheaper and you get more for your buck, like quick release and swivel.

im going to try mounting it on a igloo cooler,

1 can take the heat

2 can take the cold

3 protects camera from getting smashed

4 set it up on a picnic table at eye level

5 use wireless remote for no camera shake.

P1000 export .RAW anyway to convert a .RAW to a NEF

.NEF is nikon format and the software is made by nikon and it has picture control in the camera and in the software, not sure why or where it can changed to a .nef.

the files im getting are from the sd card, am i supposed to hook up the cable to the camera to get the .nef.

cant find any info on this

im using the Picture Control Utility 2 software and to change the picture it can only load  .NEF

when using nikon p1000 camera i dont see the .NEF. file formatt

can you import custom Picture Control from the Picture Control Utility 2 into the Nikon p1000 camera?

i dont see a convert to .NEF in Capture NX-D software or in ViewNX-i
