I have a Nikon Z6ii and would like to get a remote shutter release for it that had interval and long exposure modes. Grateful for any suggestions.

That's great. Thanks very much for the info. Do you think it's worth getting the FTZ ii as opposed to the original?

They are the 70-210mm f/4-5.6 and the 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5 D.

I have just bought a Z6ii - lovely. I have the Z 24-70 f/4 S and the Samyand 14mm f/2.8 Z for it. I have two older lenses used with my old F70 and wonder how they would perform on the Z6ii if I got an FTZ adapter. any experiences or advice gratefully received.
Thanks for reading.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I did a factory reset - to no avail. It's now gone back for a refund and am left wondering what to go for next.

I have just bought Nikon D610 in Excellent condition but in trying to assign the FN button to the Viewfinder virtual horizon setting - or indeed, any other setting - nothing happens when I press it. Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

I have a Z5 and while we’re away for the week I’d like to set up my Z5 to record the blossoming of a houseplant that is set to be at its best while we are away. Just a couple of shots a day should do but I’m wondering how long a fully-charged battery will last in such circumstances. Any advice gratefully received.

Finally bought a D610 but the battery wouldn’t hold its charge so returned it and received a refund. Took a deep breath and bought a Z5 instead. Now just need the lenses. Thanks again for all the replies.

I suppose the next question would be would I notice an improvement in image quality with Z lenses from the FX lenses with adapter?

Mmm. I see what you're saying. Maybe bit too expensive, new, for me at the moment and I can't see any used. The dilemma is that I can get the 24-70 f/4 S in 'Like New' condition for £340.

I have just bought a new Z5 plus a FTZ Mkii adaptor in a very good deal from London Camera Exchange. I already have the F mount Nikon 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5 D lens but am wondering if buying the Nikon Z 24-70 f/4S would be a good move. I would use it mainly tripod-mounted for indoor portraits in natural light and it would be my first Z lens to supplement the other F mount lenses I have- Nikon 70-210mm f/4-5.6, Nikon 50mm f/1.8G and a Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 macro. Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

When considering buying a used Nikon D800e from a reputable source I find myself struggling with the following question. The camera in question is tagged as excellent but with a shutter count of 115,000. In contention is also a Nikon D610 for less money but tagged as like new and a much lower shutter count. I want the camera for portraits, copying film and macro work. Any thoughts really welcome.

#81231 D610 battery problem
Posted by Ridgewoodwoody on 21 November 2022 - 05:44 AM in Nikon FX DSLRs
I have just bought a used - excellent condition - D 610 from a reputable camera store. I fully charged the battery with the Newell charger the they sent me with it. When inserted it showed 96% in the battery info menu. Without firing the shutter I sat and literally watched the charge percentage plummet before my eyes down to 46% in about five minutes. The battery info stated that the battery was new so I was amazed. Recharged it to full a couple of more times with the same result. It's a Nikon Li-ion 1.0 EN-EL 15. Just thought I'd seek advice in case I'd missed anything obvious before going back to the store.
Many thanks.

#81214 Tethering D610
Posted by Ridgewoodwoody on 20 November 2022 - 04:43 AM in Technical Troubleshooting
I have just bought a used D610 and want to tether it to my mac which uses the Monterey OS. I’ve connected the usb cable that came with the camera to usb port on my mac, opened NX tether but all the options to choose camera are greyed out. Ive switched to other usb ports, still no joy. Any advice most welcome.
