#62610 D5100 Multi selector Up button not always working

Posted by Fletch on 01 June 2019 - 06:05 PM in Technical Troubleshooting

If this is a new issue since spilling the soda it may need to be looked at by a pro.  Some of the soda my have damaged the circuitry for that button. I would think just a simple splash wouldn't have affected it like that but Murphy works in mysterious ways.

#62609 Need lens recommendation

Posted by Fletch on 01 June 2019 - 06:02 PM in Nikon Lens Discussion

I wrote this same reply to someone earlier- I have a Tamron 16-300 lens for my D5600 and while I love the lens as a all in one solution for travel photos I would never recommend this lens to anyone who wants sharp photos.  It's soft on the low and high ends of the range and in low light it will sometimes hunt for focus.

#62607 D5300 ISO desconfigurates by itself

Check your menu and see if ISO is set to Auto, if it is then what you see is normal.  The ISO will adjust depending on the scene/light.

#62606 Controlling multiple flashes

IR signals will be washed out by the sun.

I have never used multiple flashes outside and did not know this. Learned something new today.

#62605 Photography Genre

Posted by Fletch on 01 June 2019 - 05:34 PM in Beginner Questions

I am by nature a very cynical person, first thing I did was run the website past my antivirus and malware checks, it didn't fail but it didn't pass either. It comes up as questionable, if this was a long standing reputable firms website it would have gotten a pass not a question mark.  I did not open it.

If I am wrong so be it, but I always err on the side of caution.

#62354 Coolpix P900 which scene setting for "spot focus"?

Posted by Fletch on 19 May 2019 - 01:28 PM in Beginner Questions

I don’t have the P900 but I think you can set the focus mode on the menu. Do a google search for P900 focus modes and see what comes up in YouTube instruction videos.

#62336 Camera bag for 2 Nikon Camera's

I agree with Merco that you should go to a store, but if you don't have a camera store near you take a look at these.

#62257 Does the Rokinon 14mm lens work on a Nikon D3200?

Posted by Fletch on 11 May 2019 - 06:48 PM in Beginner Questions

https://www.bhphotov...JUN_D_BwE&smp=Y

The 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC Lens for Nikon with AE Chip from Rokinon gives you approximately a 115° view with dramatic results when used with a full frame digital camera or 35mm film camera. It includes a special chip that allows the lens to work with the camera's focus confirm, auto exposure, auto metering and auto white balance functions. With hybrid aspherical lenses, you will produce sharply defined images with a minimum of distortion and chromatic aberrations. This manual focus 14mm lens focuses as close as 0.9' / 28cm from the lens, and has a built-in petal-type lens hood. With some cameras, Shutter Lock must be disengaged on the camera's menu.

Special chip allows the use of camera's focus confirm, auto exposure, auto metering, auto white balance Ultra wide-angle 14mm lens with an approximately 90° angle of view using an APS-C camera, for dramatic effects Lens is constructed with two ED lens elements, one hybrid aspherical lens element and one glass aspherical lens element, for outstanding, sharply defined images Minimal distortion and chromatic aberrations Super multi-layer coating to reduce flares and ghost images Lens has a minimum focusing distance of 0.9' / 28cm for enhanced close-up shots Also conforms to APS-C (1:1.5x) size digital imaging format Lens includes a built-in petal-type lens hood

Bring up Snapbridge and save the pictures if they are not already (they should already be in your Photo App) and then do the reinstall.
