I picked up a device called trigger trap. Runs on my iPhone. It can do things like long exposure HDR time-lapse, sound trigger, time-lapse, bulb ramping, regular time-lapse, long exposure time-lapse. It was about $30 with the cable for my camera and I bought the flash adaptor and an extension cable on amazon for about $15 for high speed photography and what not. I'm like a kid in a candy store.
