I love this lens. Though scary chunk of glass. Bought a custom filter kit from fotodiox to protect it. Also got some nd filters too. Can't wait to try them out too.

This zoom lens live up to all its' reputations.

 

I like:

Full frame & fast @ f/2.8.

Almost prime lens IQ, even wide open at both ends (14 & 24mm).

Extremely low distortion at 14mm.

Nice handling & balance.

 

I don't like:

Short zoom range.

No aperture ring, therefore cannot use on many film camera.

Lens barrel feel plasticky (or is it really plastic?)

Lens cap.  A lowly Rokinon 14mm lens has a better design.

 

When compare to the similarly priced AF-S 17-35/2.8 which has an aperture ring, this is a much better value for landscape/interior work.
